Venice is famous for its architectural beauty, it’s cathedrals, its canals and its history. Much less so for its nightlife. Yet we are here to give you some precious tips about what bars and clubs are worth checking out during your next trip to the most beautiful city in the world.

Keep in mind that most of the Venetian nightlife is available during the summer season, but during winter you can also find some fun if you like wine and Aperol Spritz 😉

If you are staying on the main island there are a lot of options available. If you are in Venice, everything starts from the “aperitivo”, which is the meet up among friends before dinner (usually between 7pm and 9pm). The main locations we suggest you are the following:
Campo Santa Margherita (Chet Bar, Cafe Rosso, Bar ai Pugni, Organge)
Fondamenta Nani (Cantine del Vino già Schiavi, Osteria Al Squero)
Rialto/Erberia (Bussola Cocktail Lab, Al Mercà, Barcollo Bar)
Fondamenta della Misericordia (Al Timon, Vino Vero, Il Paradiso Perduto)

After aperitivo everyone has dinner between 9pm and 11pm, and then it’s time to party again. After dinner there are a few options such as going back to the the bar scene in places such as Erberia, Campo Santa Margherita and Fondamenta della Misericordia, or you can go for the only “official” club on the main island called Piccolo Mondo (very small but it can be fun). Otherwise you can take a water bus to Lido Island and enjoy a night out at Aurora Beach or Pachuka Beach.

Whereas if you are staying in Mestre, we suggest you to start the aperitivo from bars such as AquAlta or Le Colonne d’Ercole. You can also enjoy a great aperitivo at the very cool hostel called Anda Venice Hostel, as they have a great bar and a lot of international and young guests. For after dinner parties we suggest you to go to Forte Marghera (near the city centre) or take a bus/train to the main island of Venice.

During special occasions such as the Film Festival, Biennale or Carnival the choices of clubs and places to party are a lot wider. During these events you can party at trendy palazzos such as Bauer Hotel or Palazzina Grassi. Just remember to dress sharply.
