Alessandro shared fun facts of the area (which we hadn’t visited yet) and was a knowledgeable boat captain. We would recommend his experience if you are visiting Venice & want a tour from the water! Alessandro was also a great communicator, both in booking our trip & on the boat!

  Alessandro is an amazing host! Being a native Venetian, he has intimate knowledge of the islands, canals and buildings, and took us to some secret canals and hidden places that... read more we'd never have found on our own. The snacks were authentic, local beer, wine and bread topped with sea inspired spreads and classic Italian meats. We had a few delays getting started, but he was quick to update us of the changes. There was one couple who where being very rude (I believe they've left a mean review, please don't listen to them). Alessandro was very patient with them, but they seemed like they were intent on having a bad time. The rest of the guests, however, were wonderful! They were eager to start conversations, and were interested in all of Alessandro's stories. Overall, an excellent experience. 10 for 10 I'd do it again.

  We had an ok private tour with Alessandro for our family of six (four kids ages 11, 7, 7, & 2). I think this is a better option for families... read more with older kids, however. There were no life vests on the open boat which was a bit nerve-wracking and at one point water splashed all over our 7-year-old and there were no towels or blankets available on the boat despite the cold weather. The tour was interesting and showed us many parts of Venice you wouldn’t otherwise see, but it did feel a bit like Alessandro was going through the motions and not particularly interested in interacting with the kids.

  Alessandro is a thoughtful and supportive host. This charming airbnb is in the traditional style. Just a stone throw from the sea. It couldn’t be in a better location.

  We enjoyed the tour and got to explore some of the lesser known tourist spots, if you’re looking for something different, I’d recommend!
